The wired plug-in HPE Aruba Expansion Module provides a wide range of connectivity solutions with its 24 ports. It has a transfer rate of up to 10 Gbps and supports different ranges of data linking protocols, such as 10 gigabit Ethernet, Ethernet, fast Ethernet and gigabit Ethernet. The HPE expansion module provides 20 x 1000Base-T (PoE+) RJ-45 ports and 4 x 1Gb Ethernet/10Gb Ethernet SFP+ ports. This allows for the system to be adjusted to the tasks it performs. The module supports Ethernet 1000Base-T, Ethernet 100Base-TX and Ethernet 10Base-T cables. The Aruba expansion module includes in-built MACsec support that helps with point-to-point security on Ethernet links and PoE+. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electric power to devices. This 24-port expansion module is compatible with most HPE Aruba switches that come with multiple PoE+ / SFP ports such as the 5406R-44G-PoE+/4SFP v2 zl2 and 5412R zl2 and 5412R-92G-PoE+/4SFP v2 zl2. The device supports modules with no PSU such as the 5406R 8-port 1/2.5/5/10GBASE-T PoE+ / 8-port SFP+ v3 zl2 and the 5412R-92G-PoE+/2SFP+ v2 zl2.
